Chuckie Hacks on 2 and 0
This week's installment in FindSportsNow's Great Idiots in Sports is: Chuckie Hacks on 2 and 0 With a 2-0 count and runners on, Brewers center fielder Chuckie Car was given the take sign. The following is what happened in Chuckie's head after receiving the signal. Take? TAKE?!? I hope that was a mistake. This is Chuckie's count right here. Everyone knows that. It's in Chuckie's contract. Besides, Chuckie's got this chump scared. This chump's gonna give Chuckie exactly what Chuckie wants. He's gonna come with the heat, and Chuckie's gonna eat it up. Chuckie's glad he skipped lunch, cause he's gonna EAT THIS JUNK UP! It's going right up the middle. The shortstop is playing deep, but that sucka can't put leather on Chuckie. No one puts leather on Chuckie. The finely detailed leather interior of Chuckie's yellow Porsche doesn't even put leather on Chuckie. Take?? Unbelievable. That's like asking Chuckie to bend over. Chuckie doesn't bend over for anyone. Chuckie doesn't even bend over to tie his shoes. How you gonna ask Chuckie to do something like that? That's asking Chuckie to not be Chuckie. Chuckie didn't get to the big leagues by taking...especially when it's Chuckie's count!!! That third base coach can keep his take sign. That's why he's coaching and Chuckie's at the plate. Chuckie's swinging. Chuckie's gonna drive in these runs. Chuckie's winning this game. The pitcher delivers. Chuckie swings. Pop up to third. Inning over. When Chuckie returned to the dugout, Brewers' manager Phil Garner asked him why he ignored the take sign. Chuckie responded with an answer that got him released from the team, and exiled from the majors..... "That ain't Chuckie's game. Chuckie hacks on 2 and 0." FindSportsNow: Only hacking on 3 and 0. Side note: While in the Seattle Mariners farm system, Chuckie once told another center fielder to go find another position to play. That center fielder was Ken Griffey Jr. |
