 Blackjack (also known as 21) is a card game. It is very popular within casinos, mainly because it mixes chance with skill. This game, known as "21," was first introduced in the United States in the late 1800's to largely unenthusiastic players. After gambling houses made changes to alter players' odds, the game became wildly popular. By the early 1900's the game became known as blackjack, due to the winning combination of the Ace of Spades and a black Jack (Jack of Clubs or Spades).
