T-Ball
T-Ball (Tee Ball) is a sport based on baseball and is an introduction for young players to develop baseball skills. The ball is placed on top of an adjustable tee, where the batter then attempts to hit the ball.
Overview
T-Ball is a sport based on baseball and intended for younger players as an introduction to, and way to develop baseball skills. Unlike baseball, in T-Ball there is no pitcher, except for maybe defensive purposes. Instead, the ball is placed on the top of an adjustable tee sitting on home plate.

Goal of T-Ball
The goal in T-Ball is to score more runs than the opposing team at the end of the game, and to develop young players' baseball skills.
Rules of T-Ball
In many organizations, score is not kept and rules are designed to maximize participation: an inning is completed once each child has had a turn at bat and all extra players of the defensive team play in the outfield every inning. To encourage the defensive team to try to make plays, there are typically no extra bases on overthrows and runners may not advance after the ball is in possession of an infielder. Most of the other rules are similar or identical to those of baseball, though the game is played on a smaller field.
History of T-Ball
Claude Lewis, director of the Warner Robins, Georgia Recreation Department, formed a T-Ball league in March of 1958. 20 children played the first year. Lewis designed rules for the new game and mailed the rule books out to rec departments all over the country and overseas. Albion, Michigan claims to be the place of invention for the sport in 1956, though Starkville, Mississippi makes a similar claim that T-Ball was invented in their town in 1961. Dr. Dayton Hobbs registered a US trademark for tee ball in the early 1970s.

T-Ball Training
T-Ball is designed to develop younger players' baseball skills, so that the game is meant more as a training tool rather than a competitive sport.
