Traditional Rock Climbing
"The Dr. Dre of rock climbing."
Traditional Rock Climbing is an individual sport where climbers place their own protection bolts and lines rather than clipping pre-placed bolts for security. It is closest to the original form of rock climbing. Overview Traditional climbing is a type of rock climbing that emphasizes the skills necessary for establishing an exploratory route. The climbing leader climbs a section of rock and attaches protective devices along the way; these protective devices are in place to catch the climber in event of a fall. Much like free climbing, climbers are responsible for making upward progress.
