Summit For Someone Beginner Mountaineering Seminar - Estes Park, CO - Big City Mountaineers. Participate in a mountaineering adventure while raising money for Big City Mountaineers, a nonprofit dedicated to enhancing the lives of under-resourced urban teens through transformative outdoor experiences: Rocky Mountain National Park, one of the most beautiful national parks in the U.S., and among the most mountainous. Within its 416 square miles, there are more than 60 mountains higher than 12,000 feet, topping off at the 14,255-foot summit of Longs Peak. “The Park,” as it’s known to locals, is a great training ground for mountaineering and alpine climbing. The goal of this course is to turn novices into solid intermediate mountaineers. Students should leave the course capable of moving well over rock and snow and (in season) ice following long routes in the mountains.
