Summit For Someone Mount Hood Climb
| Detailed Description |
|---|
Participate in a mountaineering adventure while raising money for Big City Mountaineers, a nonprofit dedicated to enhancing the lives of under-resourced urban teens through transformative outdoor experiences:
At 11,239 feet, this beautiful cone-shaped volcanic peak is the highest point in the state of Oregon. Mount Hood, located 50 miles east of Portland, is one of the most-climbed glaciated peaks in North America. Unlike many of the Cascade Volcanoes, this is a reasonable one-day climb. If you’re new to the sport, this is the one to try! The program starts with the Basic Snow Climbing Course and culminates on day two with a snow cat ride to the top of Timberline Ski Area and from there, an ascent of Mt. Hood via the South Side Route. This entry-level technical climb requires the use of a rope, crampons and ice axe. |
