Cost: $10 per participant
Eligibility: Resident children in the 5th - 8th grades and those attending school in the Mt. View and El Monte Elementary School districts.
The City of El Monte After School Youth Sports Program is on the lookout for Energetic, reliable and sports oriented individuals who enjoy the outdoors and working with young children in the community. Our Recreation program is among the best in California with over 1,000 participants and growing. Winter 2008 Youth Soccer is currently being taken now!
The City of El Monte After School Youth Sports Program is now taking registration for the upcoming Winter season leagues. The Winter season includes boys' Basketball as well as girls' Soccer leagues.
Organized Recreation Leagues are offered at selected school sites throughout the city. The program is centered around but not restricted to, seasonal team and individual sports. Our philosophy of "Athletes first, Winning second" is carried through the training of City Recreation Staff and in our "No cut" program that teaches kids rules, skills, fundamentals and strategies. Care is given to teach kids how to concentrate and focus on things that they can control and how to develop a proper attitude toward practice and competition. Emotionally, we stress positive values and principles from which they develop confidence, emotional self control and respect for others.
Waivers will be available at the designated sites beginning in December.
Games will be played the week of January 12, 2008
