Long Beach Triathlon - Long Beach, CA - pacificsports. The Long Beach Triathlon starts off with a calm ocean swim inside the break wall. The fast and flat bike course takes athletes through the downtown marina and past the Queen Mary, finishing with a run through the marina and along the beach. This is a great course for both the seasoned triathlete and the beginner!

Long Beach Triathlon is a sprint distance triathlon. Half mile swim, 11 mile bike, and 3 mile run. A great triathlon for both first timers or seasoned athletes. Individual Divisions include Age Group, Elite, Collegiate, Clydesdale (Male 200+ LBS), Athena (Female 145+LBS), Challenged Athlete, and Military/Fire/Police Division. Relay Division are male, female or coed.
The water temperature in Long Beach in September is typically in the low 70's. Water conditions are excellent and very safe. There are no waves inside the break wall where the swim takes place and wetsuits are allowed. Scenic bike on Shoreline Drive, Queensway Bridge and past the Queen Mary. The bike course is 11 miles in length with 2 loops of the course. Fast run course adjacent to Shoreline Village and the Marina.
